clineobit.jpgAllene Roberta Phillips Cline passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 27, 2006. She was born on December 23, 1923 in Poyen, Arkansas. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1945 and married Richard Cline on February 18, 1949.

She was a founding member of the Corpus Christi Gem & Mineralogical Society and enjoyed hunting for, collecting and polishing rocks and gems. Many years of her life were spent living and traveling in foreign locations. She enjoyed experiencing new cultures, and her love of life was contagious. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, entertaining her many friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an extraordinary "green thumb" and her home received the Corpus Christi Garden Club’s "Yard of the Month" award. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard, her son Dana and daughter-in-law Theresa, and four grandchildren: Travis, Ryan, Melissa, and Victoria. She is also survived by her sister, Claircy Jones, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and grandnephews and grandneices. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby De Viney, and two brothers-in-law, Dallas Jones and Leon De Viney.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment to follow services at Seaside Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Cline’s name to the American Cancer Society.
