Visual Basic and WinHelp

Visual Basic programmers, I've found, are not well versed in calling help files. This is a problem, as there is probably more software being written today in Visual Basic than any other single language. I'll attempt to collect any necessary information here for VB programmers to use WinHelp to its fullest. I'll be concentrating on the 32-bit world, although the general principles should work fine for the 16-bit world too.

This information is specific to WinHelp, not HTML Help. For information on VB and HTML Help, please visit the VB Explorer site and select HTML Help from its left frame.

Starting Up
Help from a Menu
Help from a Button
WhatsThis Help
Shutting Down
Esoteric Stuff

Other areas will be added as necessary - email me if there's something you'd like to see here.
